The Board of Control for Cricket in India has appointed N. Gopalaswami as the electoral officer. The job position in question entails overseeing and supervising the elections of the BCCI and the Indian Cricketers’ Association.
Set to work from the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai, Gopalaswami was appointed by the Committee of Administrators – the body appointed by the Supreme Court of India to oversee the administration within the BCCI and to implement the Lodha committee reforms.
Gopalaswami, former Chief Election Commissioner of India, was appointed on the advice of the same body for the post of electoral officer.
The BCCI elections under the new constitution will take place on October 22, while the elections for the state associations will have to be completed by September 14 and a list of representatives will have to be sent to BCCI by September 23.
